EVIL GENERATION Part 4.

Proverbs 30:14 KJV

There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Does this make sense to you?

Do You hear about the recent trend of marketing human parts,  and that it's almost made official as no one seems to be disturbing them. 

A generation that sees it to be normal to kill humans and drink the blood of their neighbours and relatives just to make money and may be get power.

Raping of anyone that comes their way is the order of the day.

They act as though their hearts have been sealed with iron.

What shall it profit a man to gain the world and loose his soul?

As we conclude, its important we all become agents of change,  let's see how we can change this narrative for the better.

I pray that the Lord will help us in Jesus name,

MORNING TEA , 26th JUNE,2021

MEN, PRAY FOR YOUR WIVES

Genesis 25:21 KJV

And Isaac intreated the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Saturday Morning Tea is usually dedicated to marriage talks.

And so today, we want to examine the priestly role of husbands on their wives.

From our text above, we see Isaac praying for his wife and God answered and gave her  children.

As a man, You are the first pastor that your wife should consult in case of challenges.

This means that we should leave up to our responsibility as men to be able to handle certain issues of life.

1. Isaac had a relationship with God that made him have access to Him in time of difficulty and God answered him. We should have a relationship with God our creator if we must make a head way in life.

2. The wife believed in him for the prayer to work. Wives must learn to believe in their husbands. Whether he knows how to pray like your pastor or not.

The family is your own branch of the church.

Ensure your altar candle keeps burning.

EVIL GENERATION 2

Proverbs 30:12 KJV 

There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

We are continuing again today with this same topic of yesterday: Evil generation

This generation we are referring to here are not ready to see things the way you see things because in their own eyes, no one else knows what they know.

They are proud, arrogant and self willed.

The scripture describes them as those who are right in their own ways, not knowing they are wrong; 

Clean in their own eyes, not knowing they are dirty.

Are you among them? Do you know anyone related or close to them,  please, let them know that danger awaits such persons.

We need to be humble, look for a very distinguished person and make him/her your mentor to be able to bring out in full, the potentials you are carrying on your inside.

EVIL GENERATION 1

Proverbs 30:11 KJV

There is a generation that curseth their father, and doth not bless their mother.

Which generation do you belong to?

Things are fast changing, and humans are also changing as days go by.

The generations that were good and considerate seems to be phasing off and another type of generation replacing them.

Imagine this type of generation in our text above. 

They do not have respect for their fathers but curse them.

Not having any regards for their mothers. 

Things are indeed getting out of hands and we are not expected to keep quiet over it otherwise it will become worse.

How are you bringing up your own generation?

What's your effort in making sure you bring up people after you that will be better than you in all ramifications?

This is a clarion call on all of us. Let's consciously raise a better generation that will replace this evil generation.

DON'T WASTE YOUR STRENGTH IN WOMEN

Proverbs 31:3 KJV

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

There is nothing that destroys great men than women.

However,  the women discussed in the scripture above are not wives but those girls/ladies who are harvesting week men to their aboard.

Sir,  you have to guide yourself against these strange women.. They have destroyed  many and are still doing more harm in the society.

What is your gain from following such destiny terminators?  

Pull out today and resist the temptations of being found in their midst.

WHY RUIN YOUR LIFE AND FUTURE?

Isaiah 45:9 KJV

Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! Let the potsherd strive with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

I have come across some persons who do not believe that God exists, some others ask why God should allow them go through some negative experiences, or why they should be sick at all.

See the question from the text above: Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou?

The same way the pot cannot callenge the potter is the same way we are not expected to challenge our God because He is All knowing. 

He knows why He allowed certain things to happen, and many often, its in our own interest,  no matter how inconveniencing it can be.

May the Lord forgive us for striving with Him in some areas of our lives/existence in Jesus mighty name,

 FOLLOW HIS LEADING

I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:

One of the major determinants of success is leadership.

When once there is the right leadership in place, success is almost inevitable. 

That is what has kept us at square - one in this our beautiful nation called Nigeria; poor leadership. And this has ran down from federal, state and even local government areas.

The good news is that from our text above, we have one who has volunteered to lead us and aright too

Where are you heading to in the journey of life? 

The scripture above said He would go before you and repair all broken places.

He is levelling the gates of brass and the bars of iron.

Just ensure that he is leading you all the time.

BE CAREFUL

And as they did eat, he said, Verily I say unto you, that one of you shall betray me.

Jesus' betrayal by a close disciple is one that we should learn a lot of lessons from.

You need to really be careful with that your colleague in the office that is very close to you,

You need to watch that your friend you are bringing to the house in the midst of your female children,

You need to be careful of that person that is advising you.

Many people around you are there for a purpose. As soon as they fulfil their purpose they disappear into the thin air.

A friend has abused the daughter of his friend entrusted into His care.

Another friend has driven away her friend from her matrimonial home and taken over her place. 

Please, let's be more careful. The world is deeper that what you think.

MORNING TEA , 17th JUNE, 2021 - TALENTS

 PUT YOUR TALENT TO USE PLEASE.

And unto one he gave five talents, to another two , and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.

What exactly is your reason for not doing well? 

In this part of the world,  we have this general notion about the failures in the society. It must have been from one uncle or aunty, better still from one witch or wizard. 

The truth is that the greater average of people who fail did so because they refused to put their talent to use.

Do you know that God has loaded everyone of us with great potentials  that are yet to be harnessed? 

Some of us have our talents looking like 1 talent.  And because of the size and for some obvious reasons, we bury them waiting for the return of the master.

Please, rise up today.

Start that buying and selling now, 

Engage that person to help you expand in that business, 

Rent that shop now.

Tale a bold step and stop looking at what they will say.

When you Start smiling to the bank they will turn to praise you.

Take The bold step today and put your talent to use.

It Will grow into something big tomorrow.

MORNING TEA , 16th JUNE, 2021 - ANGER

DEAL WITH THE ANGER

Ecclesiastes 7:9 KJV 

Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

"I react quickly to anger because it runs in our linage".

"Don't provoke me to anger because I cannot control myself when I am angry" 

"I can drop my bible and deal with you if you annoy me, after which i will take up my bible again"

The above statements are few of the things you hear from people who claim ownership of the spirit of anger. 

Someone described ANGER as a hot stove that cannot boil water. What a disgrace.

And Yet You see  many bragging how angry they can be and how it runs in their blood.

For goodness sake, if something should run in anyone's blood, should it be anger? I wish peace and prosperity runs in your blood than anger.

Our scripture today declares that it's fools that harbour this wicked trait in their heart.

Sir/ma, You are Not a fool And will never be one.

Please, if you have this anger weakness, deal with it earlier now before it becomes too late for you.

MORNING TEA, 12th JUNE 2021 - BLESSING OR CURSE?

BLESSING OR CURSE?

Deuteronomy 11:26-28 KJV

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; [27] A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you this day: [28] And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, ....

Everything God created in life is in twos.

The Good and bad, right and wrong, tall and short, etc.

And in either case, we the humans have been given the power of choice over what option we prefer.

And any of the options we choose brings either blessing or curse.

It will surprise you to know that many are operating under curse without knowing it.

The truth is anyone whose choice is not in line with the principles of God is under a curse.

If it is not clear now, it will manifest later in the person's life. It does not respect age, position or status.

John 3:18 KJV

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, ...

The case of anyone who does not want to align himself/herself with the provisions made by Christ Jesus in the redemption exercise is decided and concluded already awaiting implementation.

The Good news is that we can reverse any curse that is activated in our lives by making peace with the Blessing giver.

We are made to be a blessing and not a curse.

MORNING TEA , 11th JUNE, 2021 - QUALITY OFFERING

QUALITY OFFERING.

Malachi 1:8 KJV

And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? *offer it now unto thy governor;* will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.

There is scarcely any one who will go to church or fellowship  that will not like to give an offering; except the person doesn't have.

However, one thing is to give offerings and another is to give a quality type of offering.

Many give because others are giving and not because they really want to give to God.

And so that accounts for the type of offerings people give unto the Lord. 

Our text above describes what people give God as offerings as lame and blind.

That means people offer abominable gifts to the Owner of all gifts.

The Lord laments that even our governors can not be given such gifts .

You know that that torn currency is not fit for the KING. 

That sick animal, squeezed Naira notes, lower denominations when indeed you can offer higher ones., etc are all examples.

Always take your time to examine first What you want to give to God or His servants, if they are worth giving out.

There is a blessing attached to quality offerings.

MORNING TEA , 10th JUNE, 2021 - PRIDE: PART 6.

CONSEQUENCES OF PRIDE

Yesterday we started with 1 & 2.

1. God resists them by Himself. Meaning that He does not allow them to breakthrough.

2. They shall fall. No matter how high they go.

Today we go to number;

3. They will become loosers after all. All they suffered to build shall be destroyed.

Proverbs 15:25 KJV

The Lord will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the border of the widow.

4. The Lord is against the proud person.

Jeremiah 50:31 KJV

Behold, I am against thee, O thou most proud, saith the Lord God of hosts: for thy day is come, the time that I will visit thee.

5. They shall utterly be burned up.

Malachi 4:1 KJV

For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; *and all the proud,* yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

What shall it profit a man to enjoy this life and loose all that matter to him?

Why not search yourself thoroughly today and see if there is any atom of pride in you, and deal with it once and for all.

The consequences are terrible.

Bring your self down. We are all what we are today by God's grace and mercy, and not by our own power.

CONSEQUENCES OF PRIDE.

1. The proud is  opposed and resisted by God Himself. 

Leviticus 26:19 KJV

And I will break the pride of your power; and I will make your heaven as iron, and your earth as brass:

 James 4:6 KJV

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

2. The proud shall fall. 

Job 40:11 KJV

Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.

Proverbs 16:18 KJV

Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

 Proverbs 29:23 KJV

A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

The consequences are such that we can not be comfortable with.

Let's run away from this spiritual cancer called Pride. 

It destroys more than the physical cancer.

MORNING TEA , 8th JUNE, 2021- PRIDE: PART 4

ATTRIBUTES OF PRIDE

The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

Daniel 5:20 KJV

But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:

Yesterday we saw the attributes of pride:

1. Persecuting the poor 

2. Doesn't seek God.

Today We continue with no

3. His heart is lifted up high beyond measure because he thinks no one has what it takes to bring him down.

Your business is established, 

Your company has series of jobs lined up and many more will come because the connections are strong and stable, 

Your church has already had good branches in choice locations with well-to-do members,

Your IQ level is unbeatable so you are almost indispensable,  etc.

Sir/ma, one time remembrance by God like He did to Nebuchadnezzar,  everything will be gone in seconds.

4. He has a hardened mind.

No one says what he hears,  no subordinate or follower has what it takes to counsel or correct him in areas of mistakes.

You should remember that it was a maid that couselled Naaman to wash himself in a local river and get healed, and

It was a hungry person that directed King David to the right location of pursuing, overtaking and recovering all; even though he was on course in God's direction  and will.

Humble yourself.

Whatever you know is in part. 

Whatever you have, you are still poorer than someone.

And where ever you are is someone's previous position or dwelling place.

Respect the giver of your gifts and humble yourself before all.

Pride brings down even the mighty.

Let's be careful.

ATTRIBUTES OF PRIDE:

 Psalm 10:2,4 KJV

 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. [4] The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God : God is not in all his thoughts.

1. He persecutes the poor with his position  because he does not see any other person as being important than him alone.

All the suggestions and efforts of the poor don't matter at all to them because they are not from his class.

2. The proud person does not seek God. 

Though some of them worship God on Sundays, they don't seek to please God but do what pleases them.

Haman and Herod were examples of proud people who never saw anything good in any other person than themselves.

Remember, pride goes before a fall.

Ensure you don't fall because you may not rise again.

MORNING TEA , 3RD JUNE, 2021 - PRIDE

PRIDE: PART 2 - Who is a proud person?

We have heard the pride of Moab, (he is exceeding proud) his loftiness, and his arrogancy, and his pride, and the haughtiness of his heart.

He is an arrogant person.

He lifts himself up unnecessarily because of the few things (benefits) God has given to him/her to enjoy in life.

According to Engr. John S., Pride, whether openly displayed or quietly done is intended for, or portrays showmanship, arrogance, fake ego and self esteem. It is a pretence of feeling good, important, worthy or valuable in the eyes of people. In most cases the proud people do know that the people they are falsely impressing are very much aware of their fake might, wealth, importance etc. People calmly admit, support or accept the pride on the surface for fear of oppression, denial of certain benefits, for the sake of peace and other sundry reasons. The proud are afraid, shallow and empty within so flagrantly display their  wealth, power, influence and prowess just to intimidate others or present themselves as good, kind and considerate as philanthropists.

It cuts across all spheres of life. That means there is scarcely anywhere without them.

Be careful they don't influence your life otherwise you will go through their pains/troubles in due time.

WEDNESDAY MORNING TEA , 2ND JUNE, 2021.

PRIDE: PART 1.

 James 4:6 KJV

But he giveth more grace. Where for he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

This thing called *Pride* can be defined as an excessive preoccupation with self and one's own importance, achievements, status and/or possessions.

 And God hates it.

When the scripture above says that God resists the proud, it means that He blocks his ways spiritually and does not allow him make further advancements seeing that the little he has is self centred and does not give Him glory.

There is this argument that goes on about if a person can be proud without knowing it.

If you are asked, I know you will definitely have your own response.

But we shall be x-raying the qualities of a proud person in the coming parts, so that if you have any of the traits, you will better change or risk being limited/resisted for life as God will never allow a proud person to advance further.

Before then, it's important we begin to look inwards and search out ways we have esteemed ourselves more than others and begin to make amends.
